The Curious Learners

Hello Learners, Today a new learner has joined our family. She is Sowmya Kannappan. We welcome her. Her pen name would be  Flummadiddle( please don't google its meaning😅😅😅, it means foolish or worthless). I was wondering why has named herself so. But it suddenly struck my mind, may be she is going to write and share her opinion, on those topics that we all think as worthless( Actually, those are significant, substantial, but often ignored areas).  She will be posting her views on various issues.(We hope so😙😙😉😉😉). Her first post is coming soon, it's on " Dreams ". President of India Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam ( the word former should not be used, it is incorrect grammar it-seems😊) said " Dream is not which you see while sleeping it is something that doe snot let you sleep ".  Dr Kalam said so , let's see what our Flummadiddle says😉😉😉😉. Hi learners, This is learner Sowjanya. Sorry we have not been active for many months. From now on, let's be active and learn new things. This new years's resolution for us would be to learn new things every day and share with others. We would be using this platform for that. A new post is awaiting to be read by you all. ALL ABOUT THE UNORGANISED WORKERS’ SOCIAL SECURITY ACT, 2008                                                   [ACT NUMBER 33 OF 2008] Introduction This is an enactment by the parliament of India to provide for the social security and welfare of unorganised workers (includes home based workers, self employed workers and wage workers) and other matters connected therewith. This Act obtained the assent of the president on 30 th December 2008 and came into force on 31 st December 2008. What is the purpose of this legislation? The purpose or objective of this legislation is to provide social security and welfare to unorganised workers. According to section 2 of the Act home based workers, self employed workers and wage workers are unorganised workers. Who is a home based worker? As per section 2(b) of the Act, a home based worker is a person engaged in the production of goods or services for an employer in his or her home or other premises of his or her choice othe
